Japanese Bronze Jardinière' Japanese bronze champleve jardinière with Chinese style designs and mythological elephant head &
trunk handles. This is a quality piece, with heavy casting throughout.
There are four bands 7" long by 1 7/8" wide depicting the T'ao-T'ieh
mask above ten archaic shields. It contains a variety of colored enamel,
including two shades of blue, green, red, and white. The bottom of
the interior has an interesting design of leafs in relief that is
typical of Japanese bronzes. Price: $595.

Pair of Japanese Bronze Vases on Four Legs Description: Pair of very unusual antique Japanese vases with square shaped bodies, large handles, and four ornate footed legs. The necks of the vases are decorated in relief with archaic tou-tai masks. The throats of the vases are decorated in relief with a banner of four medallions above foliage and flowers. The bodies of the vases depict a variety of phoenix birds, mythological animals, dragons, birds and fish. The handles are connected to the vases with mythological heads, and are decorated with Greek key design that is duplicated in each of the four legs. This incredible pair of vases was acquired several years ago from the estate of a prominent collector of Asian antiques. The vases look much better in person. They are actual bronze and very heavy castings. Ref. No. 118047 Date: Meiji Period, c1800's Size/Weight: 10-1/2”H x (handle to handle 4-1/2”) x 2-3/4”Diameter (body); 7 lbs each. Japanese Statue of Bijin Japanese metal casting of a Bijin with a dark brown bronze patina holding a sickle in one hand and carrying a finely detailed woven basket on her back. She is wearing typical Japanese peasant costume that is representative of the early farming culture. Ref. No. 009014 Date: c1900 Size & Weight: 7”H x 3”W x 2-1/2”D; 1-1/8 oz. Condition: Excellent condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. (Has small piece of tape on handle of scythe to keep it from sliding out of hand.) Price: $250.

Japanese White Brass Mirror Early Japanese white brass circular mirror with a background of finely stippled designs and representations including a fly whisk, drum, purse, hat and other items on the front, with a signature and a raised edge. The back is a polished mirror with usual signs of wear. Ref. No. 502033 Date: Early 20th century Size & Weight: 1/8”H x 9-1/2”Diameter; 3 lbs. Condition: There are a couple miniscule marks on the edge and two discoloration marks on the front with miniscule marks on the back. Price: $150.

Indian Bronze Statue of Ganesha Impressive bronze casting of Ganesha, representing the elephant deity, shown standing and holding a round scroll, three edged sword and cylinder. The statue is finely detailed with aged appearance and some discoloration. The figure is heavy bronze cast over a hard brown cement-like material. There is a small piece on the back hip where the cement substance shows along with green aging of the bronze. This archaic piece was acquired as part of a large collection of bronzes, including Buddha images, that was brought back from southeast Asia during the early 1960's. Condition: The figure is in good condition, but has extensive aging, some green patina, and an original casting flaw on the right rear hip. Price: $325.
