19th Century Skeleton Clock

Description:   Antique English Skeleton clock with an 8-day, spring driven fusee movement.  The scalloped dial has black numerals with blue steel hands.  The clock has curved legs and a gothic pointed top.  The finely crafted scroll frame has an intricate design, and the 6-spoke wheel movement is precisely made and joined within the frame.  The clock is attached to a custom fitted oval wood base, but does not have a glass dome.  It has an inlaid copper flower in the front of the base and copper stripe around the rear.  The base is mounted on four flat bun feet. There are no maker marks.   

Condition: Excellent overall condition, and has been professionally cleaned and adjusted.   

Date: circa 1860

Size/Weight: The clock is 9-1/2”H x 5”W x 4”D; The base is ”H x 7-1/2”W x 5-1/4”D; it weighs 4.14 lbs.

French Old Paris Clock with Figures

French Old Paris two-piece porcelain clock with an enamel face.  The top hasa seated mother teaching a child.  The Rococo base has the French movement with Time & Strike and a  bell chime. The colors are pastel.

Condition: The top has a couple of chips in the corners and a hairline.  The bottom has and old repair to the left front corner.  The clock is in good working    condition.

Foster S. Campos Banjo Clock

Description:  This is an authentic banjo clock by Foster S. Campos of Pembroke, Mass.  Campos is a very well known and highly regarded maker of fine quality reproductions of American Clocks.  His replicas of classic early American timepieces are considered some of the finest that are made today.  The case of this superb clock is made of solid mahogany.  The door has a fine mahogany pattern surrounding a tablet of reserve glass painted on the reverse side by Tom Moberg.  The bezel, side arms and 9 round balls are made of highly polished brass.  The regulator quality 8-day weight driven movement keeps very accurate time.  There is a finely cast bronze eagle mounted on the top.  The tablet is also a reverse glass painting of a famous naval battle scene, with a gilt eagle in the center, and it bears the signature of Tom Moberg.  This clock was a commissioned piece and and has been in the possession of the original owner since 1980.

Signed:  Clock marked 36 – 80, the 36th clock made in 1980; Dial marked “Foster S. Campos, Pembroke, Mass.”; and back of reverse glass tablet is signed by “Moberg”. 

Condition:  The clock is in mint condition, with only a few hours of actual use.

Date:  Custom made in 1980.

Size & Weight: 37”H (without eagle) x 10”W base/9-1/2”W face x 4”D; weighs 17 lbs. with the lead weight and about 10 lbs. with the weight removed.

French Boulle Clock

French Boulle clock with inlaid brass and ornate decorative brass ormolu.  Has cherub boy seated on the crown of the clock with upraised left arm.  At the top of the face is the name, Grohe'.  It has a heavy brass movement with a bell chime. The movement has “Grohe' Paris 9388 512” impressed in the brass. The back door has a beveled mirror on the interior, with brass trim.  The front door is lined with decorative brass and there is a beautiful brass design at the bottom.  The floor of the interior is covered with inlaid brass and lacquer squares.  The pendulum is shaped in a starburst design.

Condition:  Good running condition.  The case has some wear and some of the brass ormolu is slightly loose.  The porcelain face has a hairline crack and a small chip adjacent to the key wind on the lower right side.  Has blue Roman numerals inset in brass panes.

French Crystal Regulator

French crystal regulator clock with a stylized curved top and bottom.  It has the original porcelain face, and a mercury pendulum,  with a heavy coil steel chime.

Condition: The case is in excellent condition, with slight discoloration of brass.  The movement is in working condition.  There is a small hairline in the porcelain face.

French L’Epee Carriage Clock

French L’Epee bronze gilt carriage clock. Has beveled glass on all sides. Has a porcelain face with  "L’Epee Fondee en 1839, Saint Luxanne France” on the face. Has 11 jewels.

Seth Thomas French Empire Style Column Clock

This attractive clock has a French Empire column type case with bell chime.  Unlike the regular French clocks, it has a key-wound, spring driven movement made in Germany for Seth Thomas.  The bell chime is held up by a gilt figure from the base of the clock.  This rare clock was only made for one year by a partnership between American, German and English companies.  At the top of the dial are the words, "Metamec and Dereham".  At the bottom of the dial is, "Made in England".  The back of the movement is marked, "Made in Germany for Seth Thomas Clocks, Thomaston, Conn., USA".  It has the numbers "A 206-002" and "6413", and states, "Two jewels".  The partnership was subsequently dissolved, and no further clocks of this type were made.  This is a good working clock and very collectable.

French Gray Marble and Ormolu 3-Piece Clock Set

French gray marble and gilt bronze clock and garniture set (three pieces). On the bottom of the clock face is the name, “St Cloud”.  The movement has “Machenald Paris Japy Feres 760 46” with an impress emblem. The clock has a time and strike movement with a bell chime. There are gilt emblems of a Roman style bust on the gilt handles as well as in the center of the marble "Tazza's" on top of the clock and the garniture supports. The clock has gilt lion medallions with rings.  The clock and side garniture pieces are supported on lion paw feet.

Size & Weight: Clock…13”H x 0”W x 7-1/4”D; Side Pieces…6-3/4’H x 6-3/4” handle to handle, 4”Diameter; 24-1/2 lbs.
Condition: All three pieces are in good condition with no breaks, cracks or missing pieces. The clock has been cleaned and runs.
