Imari Charger with Deep Reds and Blues This fine example of a Japanese charger features scalloped edges and is decorated with a flower basket and a tree in the center medallion. The outer area is decorated with three under-glaze cobalt blue reserves and three alternating reserves of gilt with rust red flowers, trees and birds. The back is hand painted with a blue under-glaze fan design. Has traces of sand on the foot from the early firing process.
