W.C. Shotts
AMERICAN ARTIST

W. C. (Bill) Shotts, was recognized as a master artist in the field of netsuke, inro carvings and scrimshaw.  He had demonstrated a superb ability to use any medium for his works of art.  Bill's unique carvings and scrimshaw art can be found in prestigious collections throughout the USA and have been shown in major galleries, and in the Smithsonian, Herd, Kennedy and Johnston Museums among others.

The examples of Bill’s netsuke carvings displayed on this Web Site reflect the quality and fine detail of his earlier work.  If you appreciate his art, and would like to add one or more pieces to your collection or gallery, we suggest that you buy it while it is still available.

William C. Shotts was born in Oklahoma on September 29, 1937, and passed away on February 6, 2009 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He was not only a gifted artist, but a devoted family man and dear friend.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
